1014 Children's Emotional Adjustment Following Accidents

63 children (aged 7-16 years) and their parents participated in this study. They were included in the study if they had been admitted to hospital for at least 24 hours as a result of an accidental injury. Their trauma reactions were assessed over a 6 month period, with three assessment time points; Time 1 (baseline, within 1-2 weeks of the accident), Time 2 (4-6 weeks) and Time 3 (6 months).

Children age 7 - 16 years who had been admitted into paediatric intensive care units or general paediatric units following accidental injury (including mild TBI).
- Admission to the hospital for at least 24 hours
- Must have access to the internet
- Parent and child have insufficient English for the completion of questionnaires
- Moderate to severe head injury
- Injury resulting from intentional trauma (e.g., child abuse, assault, self-harm).
