Within a randomized controlled design the effects of a brief psychological intervention (child, parents) after a road traffic accident were examined in a sample of 100 children and adolescents (aged 7 to 16 years). After a baseline assessment 7 to 10 days after the accident participants were randomly assigned to an intervention or a control group. Both were re-assessed at 2 and 6 month after the accident. Assessment of outcome included measures of posttraumatic stress symptoms, depression, anxiety, behavior, and health-related quality of life. This dataset currently includes data from children in the control group only.
